Who We Are and How To Join

Picture
Our purpose, briefly, is to provide our community with six delightful and informative evenings, about once-a-month and on various nights of the week (but never weekends), from Fall to Spring. We are not a service club. There are no attendance requirements and no "projects."

The occasion for each meeting will be an excellent dinner at Two Rivers Convention Center, followed by a distinguished and nationally recognized guest speaker. The speaker's topics range from national and international affairs, to business, finance, science, travel and adventure, to humor, motivation and even outright entertainment. No two are ever alike, but no one ever goes home disappointed in our speaker.

This highlight of this year’s season could well be Michael Martin Murphey, the Hall of Fame Western singer and songwriter, who will present a private concert of music and memories of a lifetime in the music business. But the highlight could also be former Presidential chef Roland Mesnier, who served five different U.S. Presidents over 25 years as the White House Pastry Chef. And we’ll have programs about the complicated nation of Afghanistan, an humorous and entertaining look at rising above your problems, a moving program about getting the most out of life, and inspirational tales from a master storyteller. Click on the 2010-2011 Season Overview to learn more about all six programs.

The cost to join is nominal. The first-year dues are just $35 per person, or $70 per couple. (Renewals are $30 per person, $60 per couple.) The only other costs are for the dinners you attend. Reservations are required, though we have a 48-hour cancellation policy for refunds. Dinners are for members only, and memberships are not transferable.

To join, simply email us and we’ll send you a packer of information. Just fill out the card and return it with your first-year dues (payable to Bookcliff Knife & Fork) in the envelope provided. You'll receive reminders of each program about two weeks prior to the date of each dinner.

As we have a membership limit of 500 people, so we hope to hear from you soon. Our first program is October 18, 2010!
